AVIATION CENTRE @ MINDIL MARKETS.

Aircraft displays include the B52 Bombers, one of only two on display in the world outside of U.S.A. The B52 Bomber is one of the few surviving in the world with a proven combat record. There are Mirage and Sabre jets fighters. Also ex- Royal Navy Wessex helicopter that assisted in the clean up of Darwin after Cyclone Tracy which struck on Christmas Day 1974. The Mk V11 Spitfire replica is painted in the colours of No 1 Fighter Wing Aircraft RAAF, led by top scoring fighter in WW 11. Also a wreckage of a Japanese Zero Fighter, shot down in the first air raid on Darwin in 1942. Very interesting. We came home and had lunch and a rest and then went to Mindil markets. Took some really great photos of sunset and the crowds on the beach. Had a final look at the a markets before going back to van.
