We went out to Emma Gorge and then Jessie Gorge. It was just a short walk into the gorges. Emma Gorge had lots of birds, and a brilliant rock wall, reaching high into the sky. Jessie Gorge was quite different. There were no birds. We then went out to Trephina Gorge. We took Helen with us. Her partner has gone home to clean up the debris from the floods. The walk up to the gorge was absolutely beautiful. It was extremely high. We then reached a point where you could look down into the gorge and observe a pool of water, and sand which forms the bottom of the river. The view was worth the walk up the hill. We then followed the ridge around to the other side, until we got to a steep decline down into the gorge. Once, in the gorge we walked along the sand bed. We talked to two boys and their headmaster who were camping at Ross River homestead. Said he was a great Headmaster. Other boys were walking along the ridge with a Policeman. It was a great day and we thoroughly enjoyed the walks.
