QUILT SHOW @ CULLEN BAY
We started the day at the Darwin Quilt Show. It was held in the Darwin Exhibition Centre. It was good. Not too many quilts, which was good at it shows an array of what the Darwin Quilters do. Quite a few depicting the outback and water scenes. I loved the one that won First Prize. It was black colonial knots on white fabric with black and black and white borders. Very nice. We then went for a drive to Cullen Bay for a look. WOW you want to see the massive houses, with yachts parked at their backdoor, in the waterways that surround them. The shops were quite up market but didn't seem to be very busy. Maybe because it was the middle part of the day, or the Darwin Racing Carnival that is on at the moment. There is a Public Holiday on Monday so everyone can go. Came back to van and relaxed.
